Oh, how I love this song. The music is sooo good and I love the tongue in cheek humor of the self-referential lyrics. This is one of my favorite songs to hear live. I get chills when I hear that fake xylophone sound. It has been far too long.

This song was such a big deal when they played it live for the first time back in 2008. I sadly, have not heard the song live. But I do love it.
ReplyDeleteFrom the opening line, this song's lyrics are a fun ride. This one in particular always makes me smile: "Chess Piece Face's patience must be wearing thin". Have heard this live only once, and it was a pleasant surprise.

I love this one, too! Man, I would love to hear it live. I don't really have anything to add.. There is an online comic strip called White Ninja which is sometimes quite funny, sometimes quite stupid, and almost always bizarre and at least entertaining in one strange way or another. The links at the top of the site make different pictures of White Ninja appear upon rollover and he is in different poses from various comic strips for each link. I once made him "dance" to this song by rolling over the links repeatedly to the rhythm of the song and videoed it for no particular reason. It's dumb, but it was quite entertaining at the time. :}
