Is it The Statue Got Me High?...I don't know?..
ReplyDelete(I really like the picture, by the way.) :)
I can't hang out with the haunted eye...?
ReplyDeleteSomebody took my eye
ReplyDeleteWow. I guess there are several lyrics with eyes! (And it just occurred to me there are lyrics in Cyclops Rock that might also loosely fit.) I didn't think this one would be so tricky, but I guess it probably never seems tricky to the person making the picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat's written in the inner corner of the eye is relevant to the lyric I was going for.
Hehe..I've had similar realizations after submitting a couple of my photos. :]
ReplyDeleteIs what's written the word "word"? I couldn't think of anything else, but I thought maybe it had to do with the lyrics "a rock that spoke a word" and "sent a beam into my eye". Haha. That's where I came up with my guess. But I'm not giving up yet! :}
Jamie: yes! It's "word"! You're so close!
ReplyDeleteHuh, I didn't think this one would be such a stumper. It's actually a quite literal interpretation of the lyric.
ReplyDeleteI like the ones that make people think!
Ai yi yi...this is driving me crazy. I've listened to nearly half of my TMBG catalog and racked my brain trying to think of lyrics that said something about a diagonal word in your eye or a crooked word in the corner of your eye or some variation of that. I'm probably going to break down and go to the flickr page if it doesn't come to me in a dream tonight. :P I feel like I should know this, and I'm probably thinking wayyy too much.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaah! NOW IS STRANGE!!
ReplyDelete"In the corner of your eye, do you see that scribbled word?"
I was thinking the phrase "in the corner of your eye", with emphasis on "eye" and all the proper beats, but I couldn't remember why it seemed familiar! So, I typed "corner of your eye They Might Be Giants lyrics" into the Blackle search engine and there it was (which I know is probably cheating, so I'm sorry for posting this, but I was so close and I'm so excited so I'm not THAT sorry)! I can't believe I couldn't get it sooner, as that is one of my very favorite songs! I did think of it, briefly, but I sort of dismissed it since Kelly had already done it. I even LISTENED to it, but I was doing a handful of other things on the computer, so I must've missed hearing that line. Oh I have no idea why I'm rambling so much! It's insanely late and my excited state from discovering the lyric behind this is only fueled more by the brownies I just ate.
Kudos on the fantastically-executed picture, by the way! :D
Jamie, I feel as if you deserve some sort of reward for your boundless dedication to solving this one! I also feel sort of bad that it tortured you so, but it sounds like your torture mostly consisted of listening to lots of TMBG and eating brownies. And that actually sounds pretty nice. :-) Congrats on getting it! I'll be sure to tell my son Finn (that's his eye, and he was excited to be a part of the project).
ReplyDeletehahaha :D Oh, it wasn't torture. It was maddeningly fun! :} Goodness, I sound pretty insane up there, though. Sorry about that..
ReplyDeleteReally, it was a clever idea for a picture. And I had fun listening to lots of TMBG and eating brownies. haha. And I agree with Kelly -- I like the ones that make people think!
Also, I was wondering whose eye it was. He has a nifty eyebrow. :] Tell him thanks for providing some insight (please excuse my stupid jokes that make no sense) from one green-eyed person to another.
