Today's song is...
I Palindrome I
I have never thought too deeply about this one. I like the very circular sounding guitar riff and it's got a great drum track. It's another great example of Linnell's twisty-turny lyrics. I've always really enjoyed the word palindrome lyrics in the middle. And that's about as far as my thoughts on it go.

This was one of the first TMBG songs I learned on guitar. Also, I am fascinated by palindromes so I've always thought this was a fun song.
ReplyDeleteYet another great rock-ish track, particularly notable for a great Flansburgh counter-melody.
ReplyDeleteI can't get it out of my mind that Linnell had to sing this less than 3 weeks after his mother died, at a prescheduled Apollo 18 show. Of course, he probably knew this day would come, and one couldn't tell anything from the performance, not from him or Flans...
ReplyDeleteNow that, suegypt, is a fact I did not know. Now I feel bad.
