Song of the Day - Day 99

Today's song is...

Kiss Me Son of God

Oh the harmonies. I think I like my old recordings of this better, when it's just Flans and Linnell and the accordion without all the strings and the sax. Gary got to hear OK Go covering this which I would have liked to see. Alas.

  1. This was the first of three TMBG arrangements I sang back in my college co-ed a cappella days. That was '91 - '94, when I barely knew of nor cared about the band. It wasn't a favorite arrangement (just as it isn't a favorite song), but it was useful when programming a performance set because it could feature two vocalists at once. Also, one of the singers invariably would, in fact, look like Jesus, which added some comedy. Then again, it was Oberlin in the early 90s, and probably 15% of the male student body were Jesus lookalikes.

  2. I love this song. I love the lyrics, I love the arrangement of the Lincoln track. I taught myself the harmonies for fun and now I can't sing the lead vocal at all. Sometimes I say this is my favorite TMBG song.
