Snowball In Hell
There is something about the drum machine in this song that I really enjoy. That and the accordion/melodica but mostly the drum machine. And the lyric, "If it wasn't for disappointment I wouldn't have any appointments" is one of the most brilliant Flansburgh penned lines in existence. (I'm assuming Flans wrote this one I guess, though I don't have any actual proof of that. It just sounds like him.)

The part that always stuck out for me is the snippet of the motivational record that was included. Not back on it, still on it.
ReplyDeleteI'd like a copy of that time management self-help tape. Sounds funny. In addition to the lyric you mentioned, I also particularly like "Don't tease me with all of your might" and "My panacea's in a Xerox shop". Good stuff.
ReplyDelete"Have a nice day/ you want it when? / have a nice day / have a nice day" is one of those lyrics that I love for no discernable reason. "Money's all broke and food's going hungry" is another inexplicable favorite.
