I know people who adore this song and it's not a State Song I have ever given a lot of thought to. That will probably make me unpopular in certain company. It's a nice arrangement and the vocal tone is cool. I think I would need to explore the song some more before I could say anything more definitive about it.

Yeah, it's a Top 5 State Song for me. Just incredibly cool and simple, and what gives it that little something that puts it over the top is the way the keyboard part jumps up for the bar 9 - bar 12 part of the 16 bar blues pattern a half a bar early (and goes back down a half bar early). So simple, clean, and perfect.
ReplyDeleteTop 5 State Song here too. Despite the haunting car alarms, I find some odd comfort in this song.
