Song of the Day - Day 315

Today's song is...

Maybe I Know

I am not a super huge fan of the song itself, because I find it sad, but I am a fan of the Johns' performance of it. It is such a perfect showcase for their combined vocals and the beautiful striped down performances they do of it with just the two of them are always a little taste of what it must have been like way back when.

  1. Perhaps I just like heart-wrenchingly sad songs. Perhaps I just like their duo vocals together with the accordion and that's all. Definitely a great duo song. Now I want to listen to this.

  2. I like this song well enough, or, well, enough, but my favorite thing about it is its adjacency to (She Thinks She's) Edith Head. Best song. In context, I'll totally dig Maybe I Know and, like, the first chorus of Rat Patrol from my brain still rocking from Edith Head.

  3. I absolutely adore this song. It was one of the things that originally endeared the band to me -- it's a really great Lesley Gore song, and to see that they'd covered it made me amazingly happy. This MTV performance is one of my all-time favorite live recordings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwKHflkSs3w
