Today's song is...
Chess Piece Face
This is one of those songs I have always felt like I am supposed to like in order to be a good fan, but it has just never appealed to me. I don't hate it or even actively dislike it. It's just there. One thing I will say though, I have always liked the way he pronounces "sail" for some reason. That is all.

Song of The Day - Day 263
Today's song is...
I Hope That I Get Old Before I Die
I never really particularly thought about this before, but I guess this is one of my favorite songs on The Pink Album. It's kind of crazy and frenetic and oddly hopeful. I appreciate the sentiment of "I hope I get to live a full life before I die." I really enjoy all the odd sound effects and the drum programming. And the kind of funny voices the guys use to sing it are entertaining. So yeah, I really like this one.

Song of The Day - Day 262
Today's song is...
MOR
A 17 second song that sounds like a chorus of accordions tuning succeeds in being one of the creepiest tracks on the album. I find this song sounds oddly threatening.

Song of The Day - Day 261
Today's song is...
Exquisite Dead Guy
Wonderfully weird song. The sparse musical arrangement works well and the strings and harp are pretty, cool and unique. Never a particularly stand out track for me, but I enjoy it well enough when it's on. Also one of only two songs on Factory Showroom I've never seen performed, since I entered the scene long after the puppets found new homes.

Song of The Day - Day 260
Today's song is...
Sleeping In The Flowers
I like the contrast in this song between the verses and the chorus. It's a song that I really enjoy musically but could kind of take or leave the lyrics. I really enjoy the horn arrangement a lot and the guitars, particularly the acoustic on the chorus. There is also some intense... is that tambourine?....that is pretty cool. This is a great example of the "oh my god, we got horns!" vibe on John Henry which has oft been criticized but is actually one of the things I really enjoy about the album. Also of note, I think this is currently the song that Gary has seen live the most times that I've never seen at all.

Song of The Day - Day 259
Today's song is...
Devil Spawn
(Sorry I got used to having these on auto-post for 4 days, then the last one didn't post for some reason and I forgot I hadn't done one for today.)
I could never successfully have this as my ringtone. It would creep me out too much.
